ABOUT OUR CHURCH

Rosehill was organized on Friday, March 14, 1986, with 44 members joining the church. It was decided that the church would be named after the church where Pastor Tate was baptized as a young child.

The Pastors who assisted with organizing Rosehill, included Pastor Abraham Harris of Mission Baptist Church, Pastor Ben Rhodes of Shiloh Baptist Church and Pastor Cecil Dodson of Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church. It was unanimously decided that Pastor Shelby L. Tate, Sr., would be the Pastor of Rosehill.

Rosehill decided that our church theme: “Building Together in Love, Commitment is the Key! – Matthew 16:18.

At our first business meeting, Monday, March 17, 1986, the church officers were elected, $11,000.00, in pledges, was collected and it was decided that Rosehill would build in a new sanctuary. Rosehill would continue their worship services at Prince of Peace Fellowship, and eventually Mount Baker Community Center until the Lord blessed us with a new church

building.

On Sunday, December 19, 1988, Rosehill held their 1 st worship service in the new church building at 7550 Martin Luther King, Jr., Way South, Seattle, Washington. The Pastor & First Lady, and entire congregation with over 200 members then, were so excited for this new church building!

The Lord has continued to bless Rosehill over the years, we have had some ups and downs throughout the years. We experienced the loss of some members when God called them home, we experienced the excitement of new babies being born in our church. We are thankful to God for his blessings to our church family!
